Joanna Pinkiewicz
Born 1975, Poland, lives in Tasmania
I’m an abstract artist interested in metaphysical and spiritual subjects.
My approach is experimental, however largely influenced and is an effect of:
spiritual practices: Kriya Yoga, mantra sadhana
belief in the existence and influence of the Divine, seeking the Divine
contemplative drawing practice: geometry, intuitive, constructive, symbolic
experimentation with materials and materiality
nature and places; observation of natural elemental forces and how they shape a place and how natural systems function
Among my artistic influences are: Polish post-war abstraction, the Bauhaus School of Art and education, Modernism and Hindu Tantric Art.
